Event: Japan - US Dialogue: A discussion of Japanese Place management Practices with author and Planner Taichi goto.

As part of the Sustaining Places initiative, NYU Fellow Tim Tompkins convened a conversation with Taichi Goto of Region Works LLC and the Japan Area Management Network to explore themes from Goto’s recent book, Place Management in Regional Strategies: Practices, Frameworks, and Methodologies in Japan. The discussion examined the conceptual and practical dimensions of place management within regional strategy in Japan. Ryuzo Hasegawa, also of the Japan Area Management Network, later joined along with additional colleagues from Japan for a broader, informal exchange on how place management is developing across Japan, the United States, and other global contexts.
